Overview

The «Ideal Junior Eurovision 2023 is the fourth contest of the franchise of the Ideal Eurovision Song Contest, the second Children's Contest held in November 2023. 16 countries, respectively, and 16 heads of delegation participated in the competition. The show consisted only of the final, which took place on November 5, 2022. Having counted the total votes from the jury and the viewers, Armenia won the «Ideal Junior Eurovision 2023.» The country was represented by the Yan Girls group with the song «Do It My Way», scoring a total of 268 points - 146 points from the jury and 122 points from the viewers. France (Zoé Clauzure) and the United Kingdom (STAND UNIQU3) rounded out the top three.

This season of the contest was again held on the platform of the Telegram channel «Eurovision Live.» The broadcast was carried out on the official YouTube page of the contest, along with all other content related to that season.

History

After the successful ratings of the «Ideal Junior Eurovision 2022» contest, it was decided to continue the show in 2023, hoping to repeat the same success. On August 3, 2023, the first official announcement was made with the announcement that the "Ideal Junior Eurovision 2023" contest would return this year. It was announced that the competition is scheduled for early November 2023 and the opening of the application process will take place very soon.

On August 14, 2023, it was announced that applications for the heads of delegations to participate in the "Ideal Junior Eurovision 2023" contest would be opened the next day. Applications were accepted from August 15 to August 29, 2023. On August 30, 2023, UEBU presented the list of heads of delegations who were selected to participate in the "Ideal Junior Eurovision 2023" project, they were: Van, ESC Niels, Nlktvs, Milz, MITRA, Vladimir Shcherbakov, Power, K., Bumbaya, La La Land, Marina Borodka, Egor, Sasha, RD, Den Liteef and Vanya. On September 1, 2023, a draw was held, where it became known which countries received certain heads of delegation.

Throughout September and October, competitive songs for all countries were selected through surveys. Thus, all the songs, excluding Germany (Rahel) and Ukraine (Denys Hryshchuk), coincided with the line-up of the original line-up of the contest.

On October 22, 2023, a draw was held for the order of performances. It became known that North Macedonia will open the show by performing first, and France will be the last to perform in the final. Poland, Italy, Portugal, Armenia, Great Britain, Georgia, and Spain were selected to perform in the first half of the show, while the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Ukraine, Malta, Albania, and Estonia will perform in the second half of the finale.

On October 23, 2023, it became known that Viola Gjyzeli would appear in the interval act of the finale with a special video message. Oto (one of the Georgian trio) He also expressed a desire to appear in the interval act of the finale, but the appearance never took place. On October 25, 2023 Julia Machado from Portugal and Chanel Dilecta (2022) from Italy confirmed their participation in the interval act of the show. Zlata Dziunka (Ukraine 2022) and Denys Hryshchuk, both artists from Ukraine, were supposed to appear in the show's interval act, but did not appear by the decision of the UEBU team due to the fact that the show is held in Russian.

On October 28, 2023, UEBU published the voting dates, as well as the date of the finale show. The voting took place from October 28 to October 31, 2023, and the final was scheduled for November 5, 2023. The team received 589 votes, which is 5 less than in 2022 (584 votes that year).
